Evergreen Energy Center
The Evergreen Energy Center is a proposed 20 megawatt / 80 megawatt-hour energy storage project that will interconnect to an existing NOVEC substation adjacent to the County waste center. At peak output, this project will discharge the electricity necessary to power nearly 15,000 single family homes for a four hour period.
The project will be sited on approximately 3 acres of land off Evergreen Mills Road, to the south of Leesburg and near the Loudoun County waste management center.
PROJECT A GLANCE:
- Electrical grid impact: Enhance the reliability and resiliency of the local electrical grid
- Economic Impact: Contribute to the county’s economic development – will pay significant taxes to Loudoun County.
- Environmental impact: The project has no air pollutions emissions and limited noise pollution
- Safety: The project will adhere to all relevant codes and standards for battery energy storage systems consistent with industry standards. We will coordinate closely with the relevant Fire Departments including, but not limited to, Station 13 in southern Leesburg.
